Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 22.07.2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website prototechbaltic.eu (the “Website”) and any orders placed with SIA “Prototech”, registration number 40203762514, legal address Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 51-4, Talsi, Talsu novads, LV-3201, Latvia (“Prototech”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our services
Prototech provides custom 3D printing (FDM) services. You upload a 3D model file (e.g. STL, 3MF), select material, quantity, and other options, and receive an instant, automatically calculated quote. If you proceed to order, we produce and ship your part(s) based on the specifications you provided.
2. Quotes and orders
Quotes generated through our instant quote calculator are estimates based on the file and options you provide, and are valid at the time they are generated. Placing an order and completing payment constitutes your offer to purchase, which we accept by confirming your order. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order (with a full refund) if, for example, the uploaded file cannot be produced as specified, appears to infringe someone else’s rights, or violates these Terms.
3. Pricing and payment
All prices are shown in EUR and include/exclude VAT as indicated at checkout. Payment is due at the time of ordering via the payment method(s) offered at checkout [FILL IN: list your actual payment methods, e.g. card, bank transfer]. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before an order is confirmed.
4. Your uploaded files and content
You retain all ownership rights to the 3D model files you upload. By uploading a file, you confirm that:
- You own the rights to the design, or have permission to have it 3D printed;
- The file does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, patent, or other rights;
- The design is not illegal, dangerous, or intended to violate any law (e.g. firearm components restricted under Latvian/EU law, counterfeit goods, or items that infringe registered trademarks or designs).
We may refuse to produce, and may report where legally required, any file that appears to violate the above. We treat your uploaded files as confidential business information — see our separate NDA / confidentiality page and our Privacy Policy for how we handle and retain your files.
5. Manufacturing tolerances and quality
FDM 3D printing is not a precision manufacturing process. Typical achievable tolerance is approximately ±0.2mm to ±0.5mm, depending on part size, geometry, material, and orientation (see our Resources page for details). Minor variations in surface finish, color, and dimensions between prints are normal and do not constitute a defect. If your application requires tighter tolerances, please contact us before ordering.
6. Delivery
Estimated lead times shown on the Website or in your order confirmation are estimates, not guarantees, and may vary due to production queue, material availability, or file complexity. Risk of loss or damage to the product passes to you upon delivery to the shipping carrier. [FILL IN: your actual shipping carriers/regions/costs if you want to specify them here.]
7. Cancellations, returns, and refunds
Because each item is manufactured to your individual specifications (custom file, material, color, quantity, and other options you select), our products are personalized/made-to-order goods. Under Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU (as implemented in Latvian consumer protection law), the standard 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases does not apply to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized.
This does not affect your statutory rights if a product is defective, damaged in transit, or does not match the specifications you ordered (wrong material, wrong quantity, etc.). In that case, contact us at info@prototechbaltic.eu within a reasonable time of receiving your order, and we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate.
You may cancel an order for a full refund only if production has not yet started; once production has begun, cancellation may not be possible or may be subject to a partial refund reflecting work already completed.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prototech is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of products ordered through the Website. Parts are supplied based on the specifications you provide; you are responsible for verifying that a part is fit for your intended use, especially for any safety-critical, load-bearing, medical, or regulated application. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Latvian or EU consumer protection law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability for defective products under applicable product liability law).
9. Intellectual property of the Website
All content on the Website (excluding files you upload), including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to Prototech and may not be copied or used without our permission.
10. Account and social login
If you register an account, including via Google or Facebook sign-in, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Latvia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence if you are an EU consumer.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
